BAY BEACH TENT SETUP

Setup Tips

The Bay Beach Tent is designed to make getting outside easy. From calm mornings to breezy afternoons, it sets up in minutes and gives you generous, flexible shade wherever you land. One person can set it up using the two included poles, or you can add extra poles for a wider cabana-style space. With a little know-how, you’ll get the perfect setup every time.

Set Up With the Wind in Mind.

A bit breezy on the beach? Make sure the opening of the tent faces into the wind so the breeze can flow through. This simple step helps keep your setup steady when the wind kicks up.

BAY BEACH TENT SETUP

Setup Step by Step

  • Step 01

Take a quick look at the wind. If it is breezy, face the opening of the tent into the wind so air can flow through. This helps keep your Bay stable and comfortable throughout the day. Lay the Bay Beach Tent flat on the ground.

  • Step 02

Fill the anchor bags right to the top with sand and cinch them closed, no need to tie the bags. They should feel full, heavy, and secure to keep your Bay stable throughout the day.

  • Step 03

Pull the anchor bags apart to create a large X-shape and stretch the canopy until the fabric is firm. This tension is what gives your Bay its shape and helps it stay steady throughout the day.

  • Step 04

Assemble the poles and place them 30 to 60 centimetres in from the front corners. Your Bay is now ready to enjoy. Add two extra poles if you want a cabana-style shelter or more room to spread out.

Windy Conditions

  • Step 01

Face the opening and the poles into the breeze so air can flow straight through the tent. This simple adjustment helps the Bay stay stable and reduces lift from the wind.

  • Step 02

Fill the anchor bags all the way to the top and cinch them closed tightly. Once they are full and heavy, stretch the canopy so the fabric is nice and firm. Good tension gives the tent its shape and strength.

  • Step 03

If the wind starts picking up, move the poles a little closer to the front edge of the canopy. This shortens the overhang and gives the tent a lower, more secure profile in windy conditions.

  • Step 04

When the breeze gets stronger, switch to a four-pole setup. This creates a cabana-style shape that allows the wind to pass through more easily, helping your Bay stay steady and comfortable.

A hurricane? Probably not. But your typical windy beach day? Absolutely. The Bay holds up beautifully in normal coastal conditions, just make sure you follow our tips for a stable setup on windy days. You’ll find them on our Setup Tips page.

First, make sure your tent is dry. Remove the poles and fold them down, then empty and shake out the anchor bags to remove all sand. Fold the anchor bags onto the canopy so you’re left with a neat square, then pack everything into the carry bag ready for your next adventure.

To keep your Bay looking its best avoid filling the anchor bags with sharp or rough objects. Shake out any sand and make sure all parts are dry before packing away. If it needs a wash, remove the anchor bags and cords, tying the cords before placing them in a delicates bag. Wash on a cold hand wash or gentle machine cycle, then air dry. Avoid ironing, bleach, or harsh detergents and your Bay will be ready for many more summers to come.
